Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

Wave (b) may keep forming in the shape of the skewed triangle (refer to Skewed triangles in the FOREX market) or running triple three (see Table 3-1 of my book). The ending of the final wave e of (b) may be expected at the end of the next week.
In the mid-term plan completion of the skewed triangle (b) is expected. Upward wave (c) is supposed to keep forming.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0407. Refer to Figure 3 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 2. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

According to this variant wave of Y keeps forming in the shape of the extended horizontal correction (triple three in this case). The final wave may be assuming the shape of the extended flat. In this case the correction will complete with either an impulse or a diagonal triangle. Supposed ending of the final wave (z) of may be expected at the end of the week.
In the mid-term plan completion of the triple three is expected. The wave picture is supposed to clear up.

Figure 3. Wave counting on the daily chart.

Another possible variant of wave counting and further price movement is given here. This variant differs slightly from the previous one in the shape of the nearest expected movement. According to this scenario USD strengthening will be in the corrective mode.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0407. Refer to Figure 5 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 4. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

Supposed correction of C may complete with a diagonal triangle at the end of the week.
In the mid-term plan corrective wave completion is expected. Downward wave is supposed to be forming.
4. USD/CHFFor CHF survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0407. Refer to Figure 7 for the wave counting draft for this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26356_2088.gif
Figure 5. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

According to this scenario wave (b) keeps forming in the shape of the horizontal triangle (or triple three). Completion of the final wave e of (b) may be expected at the end of the next week. If the supposition is correct it emphasises 1) the nearest completion of the correction, 2) significant chances of the main scenario.
In the mid-term plan completion of the horizontal triangle (b) and forming of downward wave (c) are expected.

Introduction
GBP/USD reached a new high yesterday, approaching the record of 1991-1992. For some analysts it was a surprise. Note, such price movement can be forecast before it starts and adjusted in the course of its forming with the help of EWA:

Having built over the final wave of the supposed diagonal triangle GBP formed a completed pattern which ending may be the ending of the upward wave (d). Though its completion has not been confirmed irrevocably yet.
In the short-term plan completion of wave (d) is expected to be confirmed. Wave picture is supposed to become clearer. For survey wave counting refer to the next chart.

Introduction
Yesterday all the European currencies added several waves to the last supposed zigzag, having changed it from a corrective structure to an impulsive one. Due to it we can look at the current wave counting from another side and suppose possible nearest reverse of the many-month trend in favor of the dollar, as the minimum requirements for the completed wave structure of supposed wave (B) are almost fulfilled.
1. EUR/USDFor EUR survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0407. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on the daily chart.

http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26397_2121.gif
Figure 1. Wave counting on the daily chart.

EUR may be finishing zigzag of Y of (B) forming, getting ready for the reverse of the many-month trend downwards. At least, the wave structure and correlation of the waves inside the zigzag ((c)=~(a)*1.27) and double zigzag Y (=~*0.78) make it possible. In this picture it is clearly seen that waves correlations inside these patterns have reached the optimum values.
It should be noted that the most popular correlation of the main active waves in a zigzag and double zigzag is their equality. Taking into account this natural error this equality is fluctuating between 78% and 127%.
For survey wave counting refer to the next picture.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26397_2122.gif
Figure 2. Wave counting on the weekly chart.

On the weekly chart correlation of the waves inside the large pattern of the double zigzag (B) or (X) has also reached the optimum value (Y=~W*0.78). Moreover, the price has approached the historical high, 1.3663, which acts as a resistance level now. Moreover, the first main waves of the supposed correction have reached approximate parity, characteristic of correction ((B) = ~ (A)).
These facts emphasize possible nearest reverse of the many-month trend downwards.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0407. Refer to Figure 2 for the wave counting draft of this currency on the daily chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26397_2123.gif
Figure 3. Wave counting on the daily chart.

GBP has beaten the euro, having changed supposed zigzag to impulse and broken the high of 1991, approaching the high of 1992 at 2.0105.
GBP, as well as EUR, may be finishing zigzag of Y of (B) forming, getting ready for the reverse of the many-month trend downwards. At least, the wave structure and correlation of the waves inside zigzag ((c)=~(a)*0.78) and double zigzag Y (=~*0.618..0.78) make it possible.

Moreover, the price has approached the historical high of 1992, 2.0105, which acts as a resistance level now. Moreover, the first main waves of the supposed correction have reached approximate parity (0.78..1.27), characteristic of correction ((B) = ~ (A)).
These facts emphasize possible nearest reverse of the many-month trend downwards.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0407. Refer to Figure 5 for the wave counting draft of this currency on the weekly chart.

Figure 5. Wave counting on the weekly chart.

If nearest reverse of the many-month trend in favor of the dollar is quite probable for GBP and EUR, alternate variant, given in Annual-07 forecast should be considered for the yen. This chart is given here with no correction.
Note that real price movement coincides with the three-month old projected movement.
Though this variant is still an alternate one because of a rough USD strengthening in March 2007 (see the next chart).
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26397_2126.gif
Figure 6. Wave counting on 240 min chart.

This picture shows one of the possible scenarios of wave counting, which reflects an attempt to dovetail the corrective structure noticed during the last month and the possible beginning of a new upward price movement. This expanding wedge is not usual but still quite possible.
However, some analysts say that it is not possible that a diagonal triangle forms as the final wave of the wedge. But practice is still the main criteria. That is why it may be treated as an alternate variant. Let?s see what will happen.
4. USD/CHFFor CHF survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0407. Refer to Figure 7 for the wave counting draft for this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26397_2127.gif
Figure 7. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

Having formed impulse (c) yesterday instead of zigzag the price stated current forming and possible nearest completion of supposed zigzag of Y. Waves correlation inside the zigzag does not exclude this variant ((c)=~(a)*0.5). At the same time wave (c) may keep forming.
Though survey wave counting of CHF is far from the ideal one unlike EUR and GBP (see the next chart).
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26397_2128.gif
Figure 8. Wave counting on the weekly chart.

Two possible variants of counting of the initial waves of correction are given in this chart. Wave (B) can choose one of the following variants now: either a truncated double zigzag or triple zigzag.
In the first case some tension is obvious. Though it can be interpreted as power of the coming uptrend. At the same time downtrend completion is not confirmed yet. To form a double zigzag nothing special is required. In case the wave forms as a triple zigzag the correlation with other Europeans currencies will be lost.
That is why both variants should be considered equal before the wave picture clears up.

Introduction
Reversal extremum of many-month trend is supposed to be forming. The final strokes of the many-month trend are supposed to be added to the wave picture. The expected final price thrust against the dollar that is forming just now will complete the wave picture. Possible scenarios of prices movement are given in the yesterday’s article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007.
The CAD is probably ready to reverse in favor of the USD. For the forecast of its further movement refer to yesterday’s article The nearest CAD perspectives (USD/CAD).

Introduction
Possible scenarios of trend reverse in favor of the dollar are given in Monthly-0507 (in Russian).
1. EUR/USDFor EUR survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0507 and article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26559_2439.gif
Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

Seven waves of the wave counting draft of the supposed correction let us specify possible point of the trend reverse. Though it is not confirmed yet. Upward correction may keep forming up to xi wave.
I expect the wave picture to clear up and one of the described scenarios to be confirmed.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0507 and article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007. Refer to Figure 2 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26559_2447.gif
Figure 2. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

Wave counting draft of the supposed correction in the shape of the seven waves lets us specify possible point of the trend reverse. Though it is not confirmed yet. Upward correction may keep forming up to xi wave. Moreover, the last downward movement was forming rather in the corrective, than in the impulsive mode.
I expect the wave picture to clear up and one of the described scenarios to be confirmed.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0507. Refer to Figure 3 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.
http://www.alpari-forex.com/files/pic/docs/3/26559_2448.gif
Figure 3. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

Wave structure, which has been forming from the beginning of March, is more likely of the corrective mode, than of the impulsive one. That is why the movements from the end of January are treated as a possible zigzag C, which wave of C is near its end.
I expect the wave picture to clear up and one of the described scenarios to be confirmed.
4. USD/CHFFor CHF survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0507 and article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007. Refer to Figure 4 for the wave counting draft for this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 4. Wave counting on 480 min chart.

Seven waves of the supposed correction as a wave counting draft let us specify possible point of the trend reverse. Though it is not confirmed yet. Downward correction may keep forming up to xi wave.
I expect the wave picture to clear up and one of the described scenarios to be confirmed.

Introduction
Last two weeks I received a lot of letters with the different variants of wave counting marking, which are slightly/strongly/dramatically different from those I have released. The answer was always the same:
For the European currencies two variants are equally probable now:
1) USD fall has finished at the second half of April, currently the first waves of a new trend in favor of the dollar are forming,
2) USD fall completes in the shape of a supposed 11-wave correction.
Both of these variants were described in details in Monthly-0507. As long as the price is between the critical and confirmatory levels there is no sense to argue which variant is correct.
Of course, within the two weeks after the publication of Monthly-0507 new «pros» and «contras» have appeared for both of them. Though, as it usually happens while the trend breakout and correction forming the balance is turning in favor of either the first or the second variant and arguments may contradict each other.
In any case a serious retracement against the dollar is urgent. May be the inner structure of the expected movement may suggest further scenario which the price will choose.
1. EUR/USDFor EUR survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly -0507 and article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on the daily chart.

Having broken the lower line of the trend channel the price increases the chances of this variant of wave counting, described in Monthly-0507. Though the downtrend structure may be considered to be an impulsive one with great reserve. Moreover the confirmatory level has not been broken yet and it is too early to say that the scenario has been chosen already.

Introduction
For the European currencies two variants are equally probable now:
1) USD fall has finished at the second half of April, currently the first waves of a new trend in favor of the dollar are forming,
2) USD fall completes in the shape of a supposed 11-wave correction.
Both variants were described in details in Monthly-0507. As long as the price is between the critical and confirmatory levels both variants should be taken into account.
Of course, within the two weeks after the publication of Monthly-0507 new «pros» and «contras» have appeared for both of them. Though, as it usually happens while the trend breakout and correction forming the balance is turning in favor of either the first or the second variant and arguments may contradict each other.
Yesterday?s USD strengthening was an additional argument in favor of the trend reverse of the end of April. That is why this variant is described in details in today?s forecast.
1. EUR/USDFor EUR survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly -0507 and article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007. Refer to Figure 1 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 1. Wave counting on 480 min chart, v.1.

The downward construction may be presented in the shape of the wedge with some reserve. For its completion wave of i should fall at least tol the level of wave of I ending. Otherwise the downward construction may be a sequence of waves 1-2, 1-2.

Figure 2. Wave counting on 120 min chart, v.1.

According to a possible variant of wave counting downward wedge is forming. If the supposition is correct wave of i should reach 1.3450. Though the price will hardly reach the lower edge of the channel as the wedge is expanding.
2. GBP/USDFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0507 and article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007. Refer to Figure 3 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 3. Wave counting on 480 min chart, v.1.

The downward construction may be presented in the shape of the wedge with some reserve. Otherwise it may be a sequence of waves 1-2, 1-2.

Figure 4. Wave counting on 120 min chart, v.1.

According to a possible variant of wave counting downward wedge forming is expected. For its completion only the final downward price thrust is required. This thrust may break the lower edge of the channel as the wedge is contracting.
Then immediate reverse of the local trend upwards may be expected and optimum points to open mid-term long positions may be looked for.
3. USD/JPYFor survey wave counting of this currency refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0507. Refer to Figure 5 for the wave counting draft of this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 5. Wave counting on 480 min chart, v.2.

According to this scenario upward movement is presented in the shape of the forming wedge. If the suppositions is correct upward wave (v) of or may break the upper edge of the channel, as the wedge is contracting.
Then immediate reverse of the local trend downwards should be expected and the optimum points to open mid-term short positions should be looked for.
4. USD/CHFFor CHF survey wave counting refer to Annual-07 and Monthly-0507 and article Possible perspectives of the European currencies for 2007. Refer to Figure 6 for the wave counting draft for this currency on 480 min chart.

Figure 6. Wave counting on 480 min chart, v.1.

The upward construction may be presented in the shape of the wedge. Otherwise it may be a sequence of waves 1-2, 1-2.

Figure 7. Wave counting on 120 min chart, v.1.

According to a possible scenario upward wedge forming is expected. If the suppositions is correct wave of i may break the upper edge of the channel, as the wedge is contracting.
Then immediate reverse of the local trend downwards should be expected and the optimum points to open mid-term short positions should be looked for.
